This past Thursday August 14 I had my much anticipated kidney transplant evaluation meeting with UCLA at the Connie Frank Kidney Transplant Center in Westwood. I met the nurse coordinator, who will be my main contact for the entire process and the kidney transplant team nephrologist (kidney doctor) Supreet Sethi, MD.

I had a good feeling about both of them and especially liked Dr. Sethi. She was very informative and comforting at the same time. I'm definitely in good hands.

The next step is a meeting with the team psychologist. As AI notes "Kidney transplant recipients meet with a psychologist or mental health professional as part of the evaluation process to assess their overall well-being and ensure they are prepared for the transplant and the subsequent lifestyle changes. This assessment helps identify any existing mental health conditions that could hinder recovery or compliance with post-transplant care, ensuring the best possible outcome for both the recipient and the organ. "
