Happy New Year! It's Jan 27 2026 and I wish I had good news. I am now entering a bit of a desperate mode as I feel a bit worse by the week. I'm at eGFR 15 / Stage 5/ End Stage, luckily holding there for the last two months but have no potential living donors actively testing.... I do remain hopeful, but some days it is hard. I'm so happy I'll be getting out this Sunday to volunteer for a group I think has been doing great work, The Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine. I worked with them part-time back in the 80s/early 90s when they first started out. And now they are celebrating 40 years at a gala just 20 minutes away from my home and early in the day on a Sunday!
